Seeking Holiness in Daily Life 

LUX New York is a Slovak Catholic Media Productions is located in Manhattan. Its main goal is to help especially Slovaks living in the USA and Canada deepen their Catholic faith through its audiovisual productions. At the same time it interconnects Slovak parishes and communities "across the ocean" and spreads the Gospel values in the realm of media.
"Our main motto is ´Seeking Holiness in Daily Life´. To stay faithful to one´s faith and have a chance to grow in it is not always easy when living abroad. Not every area has a Slovak church or an active Slovak parish community. Although we cannot be a substitute for a real church or parish, we want, together with you, build a media community of people, whose hearts are engaged in the values of the  Gospel, so that on this online platform we can all meet, share, encourage and inform one another. On this webpage you can at the same time find the archive of our video productions, which traces the lives of those who left their home country and still remained faithful to their faith. Here you can also find documentary movies and the rest of our productions, which aims to inspire us all to deepen our relationship with God and with our neighbors."

Why do we do that?

Thousands of Slovaks left their home country and came to the USA and Canada in various immigration waves. Their life stories vary. The joys as well as obstacles they found are different on one hand, and on the other hand, they connect these people. It is admirable that these people, often in challenging conditions, remained faithful to their live faith. This precious group of people is often geographically very scattered but still stays connected through their shared values.
These values are the core of  the productions of LUX New York- located in Manhattan, NYC, near the St. John Nepomucene Church, which has been a center of Slovak faith and culture for many years. Not everybody who lives abroad is blessed by belonging to a live parish community with a Slovak priest. Therefore LUX Productions strives to provide people who live far away from each other with spiritual encouragement in the realm of media and thus contribute to the networking of the Catholic communities, that is one of the main goals of LUX New York.
